Introduction

I am Jessica and I am currently a student at Louisiana State University pursuing a Masters Degree in their Educational Technology program. I am four courses away from completing that and looking forward to where my future will take me.

I am currently in ELRC 7505 about multimedia products in education and I am looking forward to learning about how to create products that are appealing yet productive for both the designer and the user. I am currently serving on a social media team at my campus as well as working with campus administration to document our campus's story through video. In this course, I am looking forward to learning more about how the brain sees and interprets information as presented to them and how the visuals affect the end user. I also look forward to learning about this as a teacher with a virtual class so that I can learn to better present information to my students in a manner that best suits the learning experience.

I am a go-to technology guru at my campus and enjoy helping other teachers learn to seamlessly integrate technology into their classrooms to provide their students with modern learning experiences. Many teachers on my campus allow me to try out new resources and technologies with their students to provide feedback on what works well and how improvements can be made. I enjoy seeing teachers utilize these new tools to push themselves and their students to take advantage of all that the technologies of our modern world have to offer. Our school building was built in the early 1970s and our most recent bond election allowed for a complete rebuild, which will include state of the art technologies in the new building and will open this coming school year. This provides an opportunity for me to work with all of the teachers and staff on our campus to prepare them for the new devices each classroom will be equipped with and assist them in finding ways to integrate this technology into their content curriculum.
